UK NOTAM Map extension

Google Chrome NOTAM Map Extension for the UK AIS Website. NOTAM: Notice To AirMen - notices and alerts intended for aviation purposes. This browser extension adds a graphical NOTAM plotting facility to the UK AIS website, which currently only supports text-mode NOTAM reporting tools. The extension detects that a NOTAM brief has been generated, and adds a page action icon and annotates the individual NOTAM identifiers in the report. Selecting the page action icon will add a Chrome tab with a map plotting the location and extent of the NOTAMs in the report, and provide a structured tree-view listing NOTAMs by category. As a background process, the locations in the tree-view are reverse geocoded to provide a local placename for the NOTAM center. Access to the AIS website is free, but requires registration - the UK AIS website is located at: http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.html For those not wishing to register at the AIS website, but who would like a demonstration of the Chrome extension, a test page is available at: http://metutil.appspot.com/static/htm/AisMapDemo.htm NOTE: This is a purely third-party extension, and the developer has no connection with the providers of the UK AIS website, and is not endorsed by the UK AIS in any way. The map presentation is derived from the data downloaded from the AIS website to your browser, and may be annotated with geocoding details derived from other web services.
