In Jira, teams use issues to track individual pieces of work that must be completed. Depending on how your team uses Jira, an issue could represent a project task, a helpdesk ticket, a leave request form, etc. In Jira Software, issues typically represent things like big features, user requirements, and software bugs. Entering an issue into Jira isn't always as easy as you'd like and there are a number of actions required prior to getting your information into the system, with the flow typically something like: • Login • Navigate to your project • Navigate to your backlog • Scrolling to the bottom of a sometimes unending list • Clicking on a button to then finally be able to enter your data. aapi makes entering Jira issues a snap! After registering the extension and authorizing aapi to act on your behalf, we can create a shortcut enabling you to enter your issues (bugs, tasks, stories, etc.) directly into your projects without any navigation or even clicks! All that you need to do is to enter your: • Project Key - Project keys are a series of alphanumberic characters that describe to people across your Jira site what pieces of work are related to your project. They're the most memorable and recognizable piece of an issue's identifier. For example, if a project is named Donut World a project key of "DONUT" may be the identifier used for the project. • Issue Type - The issue type you would like to submit. The default types are bug, task, and story, but your organization may have other issue types available for use. Note: currently, this must be typed exactly as if there is a mismatch, your issue may not be submitted. • Summary - A summary or title of the issue you are adding. • Description - A description of the issue you are adding.
