SimplifyQA Object Manager Object Manager is a robust tool used to capture the web elements in order to get a list of its properties needed for automation testing. Object Manager is designed to create optimized CSS selectors, XPath, and identify other web properties that are usable across the test cases. The xpaths are short (except absolute xpaths) and optimized. They are structured in a way that by using the class information and ID along with other object attributes (name, title, etc), the object inspector can withstand certain levels of changes with respect to the page layout. Overview of Simplify Object Manager Simplify Object Manager, a product by Simplify3X Software Pvt. You can start using the Simplify Object Manager by registering yourself as a new user directly from the plug-in. Below are the various functionalities that you can carry out using the object manager. Creating a New Project using the “Create Project” option Assigning a registered user to an existing project using the “Assign User” option Add an unregistered user to an existing project using the “Invite User” option. A registration link would be mailed to the user. Delete Module / Page / Objects How to capture web elements using Simplify Object Manager? Install Simplify Object Manager IDE from Chrome web store Register if a New User Enter the following details: Company email ID Company name Phone number A suitable password Click on the Register button Login to the IDE Cloud User Pre-configured public server where the objects are pushed On-prem User Enter server URL Select the relevant project from the project selection dropdown. Click on the Inspect button on the top right corner (you can inspect on all open pages in the browser) Click on the elements to capture their properties. You will see a blue border on the elements as you move the cursor on the page. This helps in locating the element precisely on the page. All the captured objects temporarily get saved in IDE. The left navigation pane in the IDE lists all the objects captured and are grouped by the page name or its URL. Click on the save button to save the objects. Validate web objects using Simplify Object Manager Simplify Object Manager provides you with the benefit of validating the objects in a web page with those captured for an active session. Simplify Object Manager IDE validates only the primary object attributes - xpath, id, css, name, and class. In browser: Open the web page for which objects need to be validated. In Simplify Object Manager IDE: select the corresponding web page in the left navigation pane Click on the validate button on the right top corner Examine the validation result based on the color of the objects in the hierarchy in Simplify Object Manager IDE Green - No primary object properties changed for the captured object Orange - One or more of the object’s primary attribute has changed but not all and the object is still identifiable at runtime based on either of its primary attributes Red - All the primary object attributes have changed Clicking on the object lists all its captured attributes. Examine each of the attributes based on the attribute color Green - a valid object attribute Red - attribute value modified Simplify Object Manager also lets you capture FLOW XPATHs for any given object with respect to its parent or sibling objects. On saving the object, all the xpaths are dynamically saved to the object repository. This is helpful for identifying dynamic objects at runtime. Tag team members to projects with Simplify Object Manager Users can also create new projects and tag people to form new teams. Team members lacking credentials to Simplify Object Manager will immediately get an invitation to register. Post the registration, they will be added to the team. Renaming the objects attributes In order to give a meaningful name for better understanding, users tend to rename the captured objects. To rename an object, all you need to do is click on the object in the left navigation pane. All the properties captured for the object get listed on the right pane. Rename the desired attributes and save the changes. Deleting the objects captured Delete an object by clicking on the delete icon beside the object in the left navigation pane. Download the captured objects You can also export all the objects of a particular project by clicking on the Download button on the top right. Supported download formats: Excel JSON SDK Library Integrations of Simplify Object Manager Simplify Object Manager also has Library Integrations so as the other tool users can make use of the object repository. The integrations consist of SDK for the programming languages which after successful implementation can be used in the code for those tools.
